How students can use Panopto to submit recordings in Assignments and Discussions

Students can use Panopto to record presentations and post them directly to Discussions or Assignments. For this to be possible an instructor or admin will need to turn on the Assignment Folder feature.

 

To record a presentation as a student please follow the steps below:

 

  1. Click on the green Panopto icon when replying to a discussion or using the text editor when submitting an assignment.
  2. Choose the Record tab
  3. Choose the Assignment Folder for your course when prompted to select a folder
  4. Choose "Launch Capture" to record a presentation directly in the browser
    • Allow the Panopto tab to open if it is prevented by a Popup Blocker
    • Allow the browser to use the camera, microphone and screen recording
  5. Click on the red record button to start and stop the recording
  6. When finished, click back to the discussion or assignment tab and click the blue Insert button
