Microsoft's Immersive Reader tool is integrated directly with Canvas and can be used when viewing pages. The Immersive Reader enhances the overall reading experience by improving accessibility and boosting reading comprehension.
To use the Immersive Reader in Canvas:
- Click Immersive Reader at the top-right side of any Canvas page.
- The Microsoft Immersive Reader displays a variety of options to enhance your reading experience:
- To manage text, grammar, and reading preferences, use the toolbar [3].
- To hear the page text read aloud, click the Play icon [4].
- To adjust audio settings, click the Voice Settings icon [5].
- To close the reader and return to Canvas, click the Return arrow icon [6].
Tip: Microsoft Immersive Reader's Multiple Uses
The Microsoft Immersive Reader can be used for Microsoft Word documents and other Microsoft applications (e.g., OneNote, Teams, Forms, etc.). It is also built directly into the Microsoft Edge web browser and can be used while viewing any webpage, using Flip, reading an online PDF, or reading Canvas content online.
