Canvas provides two methods for viewing student survey results. You can view results directly in Canvas or export results as a comma-separated values (CSV) file to your computer.

Method One: View Student Survey Results in Canvas
There are two options for viewing student survey results directly in your Canvas course:
Option A: View Results Page
- In the course navigation menu, click Quizzes.
- Click the name of the survey you want to view (e.g., Final Course Participation Survey - Due by 5pm, Jan 19th).
- Click the Options icon (three vertical dots) to open the drop-down menu.
- Select Show Student Survey Results.
- From the Students who have taken the survey column, click the name of a student (e.g., jane bruin). The student's survey results will appear.
Survey Results
- View each attempt and the score the student earned for it in the sidebar to the right.
- View the result and details of the student's most recent attempt in the upper part of the content area.
- View the student's performance on each quiz question in the lower part of the content area.
Option B: Moderate the Survey
- In the course navigation menu, click Quizzes.
- Click the name of the survey you want to moderate (e.g., Final Course Participation Survey - Due by 5pm, Jan 19th).
- From Related Items, click Moderate This Quiz. The Moderate [Survey] page will open.
For each student, you can see:
- The number of attempts.
- The time it took to complete the attempt.
- The number of attempts left.
- The most recent score earned by the student.
- To view results for a specific student, click the name of the student. The student's survey results will appear.
Survey Results
- The sidebar to the right displays each attempt and the score the student earned for it.
- The content area displays the most recent attempt results and details.
- The content area also displays the student's performance on each survey question.
Method Two: Export Student Survey Results
You can export student survey results as a CSV file from your Canvas course:
- In the course navigation menu, click Quizzes.
- Click the name of the survey you want to export (e.g., Final Course Participation Survey - Due by 5pm, Jan 19th).
- From Related Items, click Survey Statistics.
- To download all student survey results as a CSV file, click Student Analysis at the top right. The CSV file will download to your computer with the file name "Title Survey Student Analysis Report."
