View and Export Quiz Results

Canvas provides two methods for viewing student quiz results from Canvas: on a page in the Quizzes area or as a comma-separated values (CSV) file that you can export and save to your computer.

Method One: View Student Quiz Results in Canvas

There are two options for viewing student quiz results directly in your Canvas course:

Option A: View Results Page

Option B: Moderate the Quiz

Option A: View Results Page 

1. In the course navigation menu, click Quizzes.  

2. To enter a quiz, click its name.

3. Click the three-dot icon at the top-right side of the page to open an options menu.
4. Click Show Student Quiz Results.

5. Under the category Students who have taken the quiz, click the name of a student. The student's quiz results will appear.

6. View each attempt and the score the student earned for it in the sidebar to the right.
7. View the result and details of the student's most recent attempt in the upper part of the content area.
8. View the student's performance on each quiz question in the lower part of the content area.

9. To view past quiz attempts in the content area, click one of the Attempt links in the sidebar to the right. 

Option B: Moderate the Quiz

1. In the course navigation menu, click Quizzes.  

2. Click the name of the quiz you wish to moderate.

3. Click Moderate This Quiz in the Related Items section. The Moderate Quiz page will appear. 

For each student, you can view:

4. The number of attempts.
5. The time it took to complete the attempt.
6. The number of attempts left.
7. The most recent score earned by the student.

8. To view results for a specific student, click their name. The student's quiz results will appear.

9. The sidebar to the right displays each attempt and the score the student earned for it.
10. The content area displays the most recent attempt results and details.
11. The content area also displays the student's performance on each quiz question.

12. To view past attempts in the content area, click the Attempt link in the sidebar to the right. 

Method Two: Export Student Quiz Results

You can export student quiz results as a CSV file from your Canvas course:

1. In the course navigation menu, click Quizzes.  

2. Click the name of the quiz with results you want to export.

3. Click Quiz Statistics in the Related Items section.

4. Click Student Analysis to the top right. The CSV file will be downloaded to your computer with the file name "Title Quiz Student Analysis Report."
