Canvas Announcements allow you to communicate with students and post updates, notifications, and reminders regarding course activities. Announcements can be used to:
- Welcome students to your course and provide information on how to get started.
- Provide instructions on how to connect to Zoom meetings.
- Remind your students of upcoming events and due dates.
- Leave a message for the entire class with video or audio comments.
- Celebrate student success and important events that may be of interest to your students.
Messages are posted in the Announcements area of the course and sent to students via email. Announcements can be created ahead of time and set to post on a specific date.
Tip: Setting Announcement Post Dates
Set Announcements to post when your course is live. Courses open in Canvas two days prior to the scheduled start date.
